For many years, children's book author Ellen Potter worked as a waitress while struggling to get published. During that time she met many extraordinary people--from a young cook who had survived the Khmer Rouge massacres to a waiter who had lived underground in NYC's subway tunnels.
Potter, who spoke at Sage Chapel on Dec. 21, 2009, talks about the eye-opening experience of being a writer/waitress and how it transformed both her work and her life.
