The Indigenous Methodologies and Art History conference at Africana Studies and Research Center will bring together scholars interested in collaborative and reciprocal research projects of indigenous art in a global context. The speakers are indigenous scholars who use critical research methods grounded in their situated knowledges and commitments to indigenous voices, experiences and political rights to self-determination. They will address international issues of responsible collaboration with indigenous communities, intellectual property, cultural reclamation and resurgence, and critically engaged curatorial practices.
Hosted by Cornell's American Indian and Indigenous Studies Program and the Department of History of Art and Visual Studies.
