Pakistani writer and journalist Mohammed Hanif delivered the 2015 Tagore Lecture in Modern Indian Literature Oct. 2. A graduate of University of East Anglia's Creative Writing program, he has written plays for the stage and screen, including a critically acclaimed BBC drama and the feature film, The Long Night. His first book, A Case of Exploding Mangoes, was published in 2008.
The Tagore Lecture Series is made possible by a gift from Cornell Professor Emeritus Narahari Umanath Prabhu and Mrs. Sumi Prabhu to honor Rabindranath Tagore, a celebrated writer and musician, and one of the great luminaries of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
