SPEAKER 1: (SINGING) Steal away, steal away, steal away to Jesus. Steal away, steal away. Oh, I ain't got long to stay here. My Lord, He calls me. He calls me by the thunder. The trumpet sounds within-a my soul. I ain't got long to stay here.
Steal away, steal away, steal away, oh Lord. Steal away, steal away, oh. I ain't got long to stay here. My Lord, He calls me. He calls me by the lightning. A trumpet sounds within-a my soul. I ain't got long to stay here.

SPEAKER 2: (SINGING) When that train comes along, when that train comes along, I'll meet you at the station when the train along. I maybe blind, but I can see. I'll meet you at the station when the train comes along.
I'll march down to the shore so I can feel my heart. I'll meet you at the station when the train comes along. When that train comes along, when that train comes along, I'll meet you at the station when the train comes along.
I'm going to the sun so I can feel my heart. I'll met you at the station when the train comes along. SPEAKER 3: (SINGING) Freight train, freight train, run so fast. Freight train, freight train, run so fast. Please don't tell what train I'm on so they won't know what route I'm going. When I'm dead and in my grave, no more good times here I crave. Rest the stones at my head and feet and tell them all that I've gone to sleep.
When I die, oh, bury me deep way down on old Chestnut Street so I can hear old Number Nine as she comes rolling by. Freight train, freight train, run so fast. Freight train, freight train, run so fast. Please don't tell what train I'm on. They won't know what route I'm going.

SPEAKER 2: (SINGING) When you get up in the morning and that bell starts to ring. Ain't nothing on the table. You see the same darn thing. There's nothing on the table. There is nothing in the pan.
Why complain about it? You'll have trouble with the man. Let the Midnight Special shine its light on me. Let the Midnight Special shine its ever-loving light on me.
Yonder comes Miss Rosie. How the heck do you know? I can tell by her apron and the dress that she wore. Umbrella on her shoulder and a paper in her hand. She's going to see the governor. She wants to free her man.
Let the Midnight Special shine its light on me. Let the Midnight Special shine its little light on me. Have you ever been to Houston? Well, you better act right. You better not squamble, and you sure better not fight. The sheriff will arrest you and those boys will bring you down. Bet your bottom dollar you're penitentiary-bound.
Let the Midnight Special shine its light on me. Let the Midnight Special shine its ever-loving light on me. Let the Midnight Special shine its light on me. Let the Midnight Special shine its ever-loving light on me.

SPEAKER 4: (SINGING) I hear the train a'comin. It's right around the bend. And I ain't seen the sunshine since I don't know when. Yeah, I'm stuck in Folsom Prison. The time keeps dragging on. Yeah, that train keeps a-movin' on down to San Antone.
When I was just a baby, my mama told me, son, always be a good boy. Don't ever play with guns. But I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die. When I hear the whistle blowing, I hang my head and cry.
[APPLAUSE]
There's probably rich folks eating in a fancy diner car. They're probably drinking coffee and smoking big cigars. Well, I know I had it coming. I know I can't be free. But those people keep moving and that's what tortures me.
Well, if they freed me from this prison, if that railroad train was mine, I bet I'd move it on a little farther down the line. Far from Folsom Prison, that's where I want to stay. And I'd let that lonesome whistle blow my blues away.
[APPLAUSE]

SPEAKER 3: (SINGING) My mama done told me when I was in pigtails. My mam done told me, hon. A man's going to sweet talk you and give you the big eye. But when the sweet talk is done, a man is a two face, a worrisome thing who will leave you to sing the blues in the night.
Now the rain's a-fallin'. Hear the train a-callin'. Whoo-ee. Mama done told me. Hear that lonesome whistle blow across the trestle. Whoo-ee. Mama done told me. A whoo-ee-duh-whoo-ee. Old clickety tracks echoing back to the blues in the night.
The evening breeze will start the trees to crying. And the moon will hide its light when you get those blues in the night. Take my word, the mocking bird will sing the saddest kind of song. He knows things are wrong, and he's right.
[INAUDIBLE] to St. Jo wherever the four winds, four winds blow. I been in some big towns and heard me some big talk, but there is one thing I know. Well, a man is a two face, a worrisome thing who'll leave you to sing the blues in the night.

SPEAKER 1: (SINGING) Lord, dear Lord, God Almighty God of love. Please look down and see my people through. Lord, dear Lord, God Almighty, God of love. Please look down and see my people through.
I believe that God put sun and moon up in the sky. I don't mind those gray clouds 'cause they're just clouds in the sky. He'll give peace and comfort to every troubled mind. Come Sunday, oh, come Sunday, that's the day.

SPEAKER 4: (SINGING) Riding on the city of New Orleans, Illinois Central Monday morning rail. 15 cars and 15 restless riders, three conductors and 25 sacks of mail. All along the southbound odyssey, the train moves out of Kankakee. Rolls along past houses, farms, and fields. Passing trains that have no name, freight yards full of old, black men, and the graveyards of the rusted automobiles.
Good morning, America, how are you? I said don't you know me? I'm your native son. I'm the train they call The City of New Orleans. I'll be gone 500 miles when the day is done.
Dealing card games with the old man in the club car. Penny a point, ain't no one keeping score. Pass the paper bag that holds the bottle. Feel the wheels rumblin' 'neath the floor.
And the sons to Pullman porters and the sons of engineers ride their father's magic carpets made of steel. Mothers with their babes asleep rockin' to the gentle beat, and the rhythm of the rails is all they feel.
Good morning, America, how are you? I said don't you know me? I'm your native son. I'm the train they call The City of New Orleans. I'll be gone 500 miles when the day is done.
Nighttime on the City of New Orleans. Changing cars in Memphis, Tennessee. Halfway home, we'll be there by morning. Through the Mississippi darkness rolling down to the sea.
And all the towns and people seem to fade into a bad dream. And the steel rails still ain't heard the news. The conductor sings his song again. The passengers will please refrain. This train's got the disappearing railroad blues.
Good night, America, how are you? I said don't you know me? I'm your native son. I'm the train they call The City of New Orleans. I'll be gone 500 miles when the day is done.

Swing low, sweet chariot, coming for to carry me home. Swing low, sweet, sweet, sweet chariot, coming for to carry me home.
And sometimes up and sometimes down, coming for to carry me home. But still my soul feels heavenly bound, coming for to carry me home. Swing low, sweet chariot, coming for to carry me home. Swing low, sweet chariot, coming for to carry me home.
