Karl Lam, Nolan ‘24, is an Einhorn Center Engaged College Ambassador. He also participated this year in the VACEP Pathfinders project, in which Cornell and VinUniversity students collaborated with a Vietnamese NGO on collecting and distilling research examining adverse childhood experiences. In this short video, Lam describes critical reflection and the effects these engaged experiences have had on his world perspective and his approach to learning. “Critical reflection is asking you to see yourself in a larger ecosystem...It was important for us to know that we were there to learn and understand as much as we were there to help, for our Vietnamese counterparts to educate us and tell us what was happening.”
